More than 50 countries committed to protect at least 30% of land and oceans worldwide by 2030 at the One Planet Summit on Monday. These countries belong to the High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People, which was created in 2019 in an effort to protect wildlife and curb climate change. U.S. officials did not attend the summit, which was organized by France and held online.
