Deutsche Bank will not provide financing for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline, Reuters reports. Germany’s biggest lender follows several major (re)insurers in refusing to back the proposed 900-mile heated crude oil pipeline from Hoima, Uganda, to the Port of Tanga in Tanzania, cutting through agricultural land and threatening wetlands in the Lake Victoria Basin. Deutsche Bank has not commented publicly, amid increasing pressure ahead of its annual general meeting on Thursday. (Reuters)
