The storm formerly known as Potential Tropical Cyclone 26 intensified rapidly yesterday to a tropical storm yesterday morning and grew to a hurricane just 12 hours later. Hurricane Delta could reach Category 4 by Tuesday evening, when it is expected to hit the Yucatan Peninsula. Forecasters predict it will hit the American Gulf Coast late this week as a Category 2.
