Hurricane Zeta weakened after hitting the Yucatan Peninsula Tuesday, but restrengthened into a hurricane early Wednesday morning. The storm is expected to further intensify today and make landfall as a Category 2 storm near New Orleans Wednesday afternoon, bringing life-threatening storm surge of as much as nine feet in some places. Zeta is the third named storm to hit the Yucatan this month, making landfall less than 70 miles from the area’s ravaged by Hurricane Delta and Tropical Storm Gamma.
