The U.S. Postal Service now says more than 40% of its next-generation delivery vehicles will be electrically powered, a substantial increase from the plan it announced in February. The USPS was harshly and widely criticized for its plan to buy 50,000 new mail trucks from Oshkosh Defense with just 10% of those being EVs. USPS now says half of its Oshkosh vehicles will be EVs, bringing the total of all the new vehicles it is purchasing to more than 40% electric.
